According to the Public Relations Office of The Association of Tea Producers, Traders and Tea Packaging Industry of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration has announced the import statistics for 20 essential commodities through the country’s customs offices during the months of Farvardin and Ordibehesht 1403.

During the first two months of the current year, 4.022 million tons of essential commodities, valued at $2.375 billion, were cleared through the country’s customs offices and imported into Iran. This represents a 26% increase in terms of weight and a 17% increase in terms of value.

Accordingly, the highest increases in both volume and value among essential commodity imports during this period were related to fresh light red meat, soybean meal, and sugar. The greatest decreases in import value were recorded for wheat, barley, and edible oils.
